Lifetime ceremonies

We offer the ceremonies that we celebrate from conception to marriage and beyond, these sixteen saṁskāras form the auspicious thread that sanctifies the entire journey of human life.

गर्भाधानं पुंसवनं सीयन्तो जातकर्म च ।

नामान्नप्राशनं चौलं मौञ्जीव्रतचतुष्टयम् ।

गोदानाख्यं स्नातकं च विवाहं पैतृणं मेधिकम् ।

एते षोडश संस्काराः क्रमेन स्मार्तकर्माणि ॥

  • Garbhādāna – sanctification of conception

  • Pumsavana – blessing for healthy progeny

  • Sīmantonnayana (Seemantham) – protection of mother and child

  • Jātakarma – birth ceremony

  • Nāmakaraṇa – naming ceremony

  • Annaprāśana – first feeding of solid food

  • Cūḍākaraṇa (Chowlam) – first tonsure

  • Mauñjī‑bandhana – initiation with the sacred girdle

  • Vrata‑catuṣṭaya – the four vows of student life

  • Godāna – gifting of a cow

  • Snātaka – completion of formal education

  • Vivāha – marriage

  • Paitṛṇa / Medhika – rites connected to lineage and wisdom

Together, these sixteen rites form the complete spiritual journey of a Hindu’s life, performed in sequence as Smārta karmas.
