Lifetime ceremonies
We offer the ceremonies that we celebrate from conception to marriage and beyond, these sixteen saṁskāras form the auspicious thread that sanctifies the entire journey of human life.
गर्भाधानं पुंसवनं सीयन्तो जातकर्म च ।
नामान्नप्राशनं चौलं मौञ्जीव्रतचतुष्टयम् ।
गोदानाख्यं स्नातकं च विवाहं पैतृणं मेधिकम् ।
एते षोडश संस्काराः क्रमेन स्मार्तकर्माणि ॥
Garbhādāna – sanctification of conception
Pumsavana – blessing for healthy progeny
Sīmantonnayana (Seemantham) – protection of mother and child
Jātakarma – birth ceremony
Nāmakaraṇa – naming ceremony
Annaprāśana – first feeding of solid food
Cūḍākaraṇa (Chowlam) – first tonsure
Mauñjī‑bandhana – initiation with the sacred girdle
Vrata‑catuṣṭaya – the four vows of student life
Godāna – gifting of a cow
Snātaka – completion of formal education
Vivāha – marriage
Paitṛṇa / Medhika – rites connected to lineage and wisdom
Together, these sixteen rites form the complete spiritual journey of a Hindu’s life, performed in sequence as Smārta karmas.
